When we state that the confidentiality and the security of our clients’ personal data are taken very much to heart in Cannes Accommodation, it is no idle boast, nor a simple declaration devoid of real substance.

New means of communication are continuously being developed and diversified.
 

At Cannes Accommodation we understand that you care how information about you is collected, stored and used. We take a very serious approach to the question. We are determined to merit your trust in us to handle these matters seriously and sensibly.
 

The following paragraphs describe the procedures we use to collect personal information when you visit our site, the use we make of that information and the safeguards we apply to ensure its security. We hope our explanations are clear and that you will find our approach at least on a par with the best industry standards. We strongly advise you to read this Notice. We draw your attention to the fact that by visiting our site you are accepting and agreeing to the practices described therein.

Security of personal information

Personal information regarding our clients is communicated to absolutely no-one outside Cannes Accommodation, be they individuals, companies or organizations. There are only two possible exceptions to this rule and both concern decisions you, yourself, make:

 

• First, in the exercise of your right of regard on the personal information stored about you, and only you (see below for details in paragraph “Right of access, opposition, modification and suppression”). In this case we take care to confirm that it is indeed you who are requesting and will have access to the information;
   
• Second, in cases where you have specifically requested us to give some of your personal information to selected partners and / or other third parties.

Within our company, all personal information on our clients remains strictly confidential and strictly protected. Access is restricted to authorized personnel only. All the confidential files are protected by Log-in identifiers and / or passwords. The same goes for access to our computers. We use a system of firewalls.

Access to our offices is secured at all times.
 

Whenever there is a real need to print out personal information, the confidential paperwork is never thrown into the waste paper basket or rubbish bin; it is disposed of by passage through the shredding machine. We avoid making copies that are not justified.

 

All our staff members are regularly and formally reminded of company policy relative to the security and confidentiality of our clients’ personal data.

 

We undertake to maintain a high degree of confidentiality by integrating into our system the latest technological innovations allowing us to ensure the confidentiality of your transactions. Nevertheless, bearing in mind that no system can offer total and absolute security, you should recognize that an element of risk is always present whenever you use Internet to transmit personal information.

The collection of personal details:

1. We collect and store the following personal details that you knowingly provide:

• Surname, First name, Postal address, Postcode, E-mail address, Telephone and Fax numbers
   
• These personal details are gathered from the forms you fill in during your visits to our site – forms such as those dealing with your requests for information and your orders.
   
• Obviously, we use these details, first and foremost, to send you the information you have requested, answer questions you have asked us, confirm and follow up your order, and so on.
   
• We also use them, together with details about you that are collected and stored as a result of the interaction that is established between you and our website, when you are connected to our site. These aspects are explained in the next paragraph.

2. In common with all other well-designed sites, we collect and store information about you as a result of the interaction that is established between you and our website, when you are connected to our site. In other words the information is collected automatically as you move around our site, by means of the ‘famous’ cookies and logging files. These entities are simply short pieces of computer text that are inserted here and there on our site and which collect data such as the type of properties you look at, the time, date and duration of your visit, how often you visit, as well as technical details like the IP address of the computer by means of which you contact us, the operating system and browser type used… Cookies do no harm at all to your computer.
    

• The details are used to help us to develop our site and services in ways which improve your comfort in using our site (more intuitive navigation, focusing on your interests…) and the satisfaction you obtain from the totality of your contacts with us.
   
• We use the details to compile statistics on our clients’ areas of interest, how they make use of our site and their own personal history of contact with us, so that we can proactively respond to the needs of our clientele as a whole, or to your requirements in particular.
   
• We use the details to help us know the sort of general news and information (on Cannes, the local property rental market, city events, legal aspects of renting or of owning a property for rent…) that is interesting and / or useful to you.
   
• We also use all the details to enable us to design & direct our promotional offers.
   

Please note, in this connection, that we do not communicate your details in any form whatsoever to our partners or other third parties, except where you have expressly demanded that we do so. Other than this latter case, you will receive no contacts direct from any third party based on the personal details we have collected.
 

If you receive information about services provided by our partners or other third parties, either we have incorporated that information in our own promotional information because we believe it could be useful to you, or the parties concerned have collected your personal details from elsewhere.

Right of access, opposition, modification and suppression

Legal dispositions currently in force in France (article 34 de la loi "informatique et liberté du 6 janvier 1978) provide extensive rights of access, modification and suppression of personal information collected and stored as individuals use the internet. The right of opposition represents the possibility available to everyone contacting our site to refuse that their personal information be used for certain purposes that are specified at the time of the collection of the information.
